Kristin joined the firm in December of 2017. She represents clients in estate planning, probate administration, business and commercial transactions, and real estate law. Kristin works closely with clients in evaluating their goals and objectives, educating them on available options and executing their personalized plans.
Prior to joining Schmitz, Ophaug & Blumhoefer, LLP, Kristin was an attorney at a boutique law firm in coastal North Carolina where she gained experience in estate planning, probate administration, elder law and business transactions. Kristin received her undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. She received her law degree from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where she graduated Cum Laude and was active in the elder law and advanced elder law clinics of the Interprofessional Center for Counseling & Legal Services as a Certified Student Attorney.
Kristin grew up in New Prague and is excited to be back in the Northfield area. Outside of her practice, Kristin likes to be active and be outdoors. She enjoys running, camping, skiing, and traveling with her husband and two young daughters.
